Friday, May 1st, 2009 | Songs | No Comments
Dear all,
As promised earlier, ErilaZ will release some ReverbNation fan exclusive songs in the future. Land of No Gods is the first among them. Listen to the song at ErilaZ’s ReverbNation page by becoming a fan (just click the ‘become a fan’ button).
Sit back, turn your volume knobs South-East and enjoy!
Land of No Gods is a bit more experimental ErilaZ song incorporating breakbeats into Industrial EBM.
Combination of Electro-Industrial, EBM, Folkmetal & Classical whatnot?

ErilaZ is usually given the following genre attributes: Industrial, EBM, Metal, Classical and Folk (sometimes adding Electro in the mix and substituting Classical and Folk with Neo-Classical and Neo-Folk, just for the fun and confusion). Why these attributes, one might ask? Because they are most likely to represent what my music sounds like and where it comes from. The latter part of the sentence is as important as the first one, I believe. In order to fully understand ErilaZ’s music, there has to be good ground knowledge of both Folk and Classical even though these two might not be the first ones to pop into your mind when trying to describe ErilaZ’s music. ErilaZ grew up listening to Metal, Classical and Folk so these are the underlying influences that are just topped with the electronic EBM / Industrial dressing.
All the so-called music genres are artificial (often subjective) constructs that seek to label music into different categories exploiting traits applied to each genre and then seeing where each artist, album or song fits. However corny it sounds, I’m not a big fan of labeling music even though I do it for my music as well. It is interesting to know what you think about this, so please do answer the randomly changing poll on the right if it asks about what you would call ErilaZ’s music. “Shite” is not an option here.
Leave a comment if you agree or disagree.

Harsh EBM / Terror EBM / Aggrotech
Saturday, February 14th, 2009 | Unimportant sh*t | 2 Comments
Dear all,
When I first started listening to electronic music, it was the hard stuff I was really into. Bands like Hocico, Suicide Commando, etc. came in the picture pretty early. I had listened to metal music all my life, so the screaming distorted vocals were quite familiar to me.
However, after not too long this genre (a.k.a Harsh EBM, Terror EBM or Aggrotech) became really dull to listen to, as each song — no matter which artist — sounded like I had heard it three million times before. I was recently checking out different bands in MySpace to buy new music for my next DJ set and popped into X-Fusion’s MySpace page. I was delighted to hear something different being done in this particular niche genre, and bought the “Vast Abysm” right away.
I’m listening to X-Fusion’s Vast Abysm right now and am really liking it, so be alert at the next Torture Torstai (26th February 2009) — you will hear X-Fusion there. Also, right after Torture Torstai, on Friday 27th February 2009 X-Fusion’s other project, Noisuf-X (what a delightfully thoughtful nameplay
) will play a gig on Synapsi club at the heart of Helsinki!

If I Die Today mp3
Friday, February 6th, 2009 | Songs | 2 Comments
Dear all,
Something was missing from the free mp3 downloads – now you can also download If I Die Today as 192kbps mp3 file freely from the download section. The song is still in demo stage, but already sounds pretty much ErilaZ, with the familiar Industrial, EBM and electro influences. From this song I decided to leave out guitar parts as it sounded good to me the way it was. Enjoy and remember to leave a comment should you like what you hear!
